We were in Rockport, MA for a performance on Thursday, May 3rd, with an additional two days of workshops at local elementary, middle, and high schools. It was great having the opportunity to stay in a charming, small coastal New England town for a few days. Their tourist season hasn't kicked off yet, so it felt like we had the town to ourselves. We stayed at the Eagle Motel, replete with seaside palettes of robins egg blue, pale straw/hay yellows, and crisp whites.
We ate at the Hula Moon Cafe and were treated like locals for three days. It's a small, cash only joint where everyone knows your name and conversation shifts from the news of the day, to who's headed out on the water or selling a boat. Very peaceful and serene, and the venue itself was pretty magical. The back of the stage was glass paneled allowing stunning views of the bay. It's pretty rare to play in place like this, definitely one for the books.
We're headed to Nashua, NH today, and Bath, Maine tomorrow. Flying back home on Sunday!
